    XP install problem

I'm trying to do a fresh install of TinyXP on a laptop. However I get a

    Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF7A79524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

message. He's bought a brand new hard drive to go in it hence the install. I've never encountered this before so I have no idea as to how to go about fixing it. I'd appreciate any help.

It is probably a driver issue. You need to use floppy disc and copy the IDE/SATA driver on it. press F6 and it will load the driver from the disc. Other than that try and play around the bios, like legacy mode for Sata drives (if it is a sata HDD) etc.

It doesn't have a floppy drive. What should I be doing with the BIOS? I'm trying it out with the bios set to Compatability instead of AHCI. It is a SATA HDD.

Tried my XP disc and I'm getting "The file asc.sys is corrupted".

      Any ideas?

        Your disc is scratched.

        Reburn a copy.

Cleaned the disc, seems to be working now. Hoping once I get XP on there, then TinyXP will take too.

asc.sys is SCSI related basically IDE or SATA controller. If you don't have a floppy try this guide, which basically creates a Windows Disc with the drivers included. You probably have to do some research on what chipset is used on the laptop. Try this only, if it still doesn't work, but setting the bios to Compatability or legacy mode should normally do the trick for installation, you might want to update the drivers afterwards.

It was gong alright and the poxy thing decided to switch off during the installation. Now it doesn't appear to be drawing any power from the PSU. I can't be bothered with it now TBH. Too hot and I need to kill BP Selen Vinland anyway.
