Does this TV do 480P

Someone I know was looking at this TV

but was really interested in getting a set with proper Progressive Scan capabilities.

The description says "Advanced 100 Hz Active Vision Progressive Scan" but is that true PS?

if memory serves me correct it does prog scan, NTSC defintaley, but I'm not sure about PAL, have a look on avforums, there was a thread on this set just the other day.

you would hope it would do PS (at least NTSC) for that amount of money.

It does support native progressive scan via the component inputs. (NTSC & PAL)

I'd suggest reading about some of the problems with the set over at www.avforums.com before you commit to a purchase.

I searched the forums for that model of TV and only two threads came up, neither of which seemed to highlight any major problems. What's wrong with it specifically?

green trails on fast moving white objects over dark backgrounds (most noticable in the dark) and erm... mine has a slight flicker, but im getting it swapped out to sort that

Most significant issues
- green trails on white vs black areas.
- flickering image/broken progressive mode on some sets

Not at all. It's a real issue. You yourself are an example of this.
Are you not sending yours back?


Perhaps broken progressive was a bit strong though. I'm still considering this set myself but it is slightly flawed in a few small areas.

Quality control seems a major problem.
