    Cables Question

    Hello!

I've got a new PC on the way, and the graphics (ATI HD 5770) card has HDMI and DVI Dual Link.

The monitor I purchased is only DVI-D (Samsung Lavender).

Would I be okay buying an HDMi-DVI Cable. Will this work for me?

Also, as I know the DVI side can not output audio, am I still okay using speaker's that I connect to the PC?

I guess the other option is this cable for DVI-D to DVI-D? Only thing is, this one doesn't say it's 1080P

Not sure why you'd want to buy an HDMI to DVI converter. The card has a DVI port, your monitor uses DVI, and will come with the appropriate DVI cable. You don't need to buy anything.

Really? I thought it wouldn't come with a cable. Places like Ebuyer say in the description: Optional Accessories: DVI Cable

That saves me a few quid. Thanks!

As DVI doesn't carry audio, am i okay to use normal speakers on the PC still?

You'd use the audio outputs on the back of the PC.
