Why doesn't my monitor turn off?

Screensaver comes on after 5 mins but then after 10 it should go to standby. It no longer does this. Can't figure out why - things on google suggest ensuring the screensaver is occuring before the standby time (which it is).

Any ideas for me to try?

I assume the power options are set for the monitor to turn itself off after that time. Maybe the screensaver is preventing it? Try the blank screen one and see if that makes any difference?

Yeah it's on the blank one. It seems to work if the screensaver is turned off though....

Hmm. I just changed it to 1 min for the saver and 2 mins for the screen and it has decided to work. Perhaps it just got stuck and the change sorted it out .

EDIT: Ah, good stuff.

I was on XP and it did the same thing..... Now on windows 7.
Still seems to be working. weird.
