Video editing softwares

I use HD Writer AE 2.0 on my PC which is good at handling my Full HD camcorder video from Panasonic.

I used Moviemaker - **** for video saving.

I want one which allow me to create title effect in AVCHD Format. So I can import it to HD Writer AE as it will be better than limited title effect on this software. Something simple like Swishtools would be ideal.

I also want a software which can adjust video brightness and contract again in AVCHD Format.

Ideally free if possible.

I don't think that exists, but if you find it, please let me know.

If you want to pay, then Nerovision probably does all that, including the burning to dvd. Also look at Ulead, Pinnacle, Sony Vegas.
