New router - stupid question

My wireless router/modem/thingy died and the new one arrived today. I just plugged it in and used the security key to get on and it's all up and running.

So here's my stupid question - it came with an installation CD. Is there any reason whatsoever why I should even look at what's on that disk? Do I actually need to install anything?

The CD probably holds the quick start guide and the instruction manual. Maybe a very simple configuration program for those unwilling to go through the router's web interface that will also install a personalized advertisement bar in your browser.

If it came from your ISP, it'll install a load of completely unnecessary crap on your PC. Bin it.
