Turn off ps3 trophies?

Is there a way to turn of the trophy notification rubbish like you can with 360 achievements? I've already turned of notifications in system settings but it hasn't worked.

I thought the notification option turned off everything. It's the only option I can see anyway, so if that doesn't do it then I think you're out of luck.

no, you can't turn them off, it's a compulsory feature unfortunately.
