    ^I actually have a Logitech Z-5500 myself. I know what you mean about DTS sounding louder and bolder, but I always put that down to DTS being 4dB louder than DD. Certainly not doubting that DTS is technically superior though, it has a significantly higher bitrate (768kbps~1.5Mbps Vs. 640bps). I find that a well-encoded DD track can sound pretty much indistinguishable from the DTS track. Unfortunately, only video ever seems to take into account the difference in volume.

        I use a THX Cinema mode at night which is cool, because you turn the volume down and it boosts the quiet stuff. works 90% of the time.
