Can someone explain PS3/Blu-Ray Audio settings to me?

^I actually have a Logitech Z-5500 myself. I know what you mean about DTS sounding louder and bolder, but I always put that down to DTS being 4dB louder than DD. Certainly not doubting that DTS is technically superior though, it has a significantly higher bitrate (768kbps~1.5Mbps Vs. 640bps). I find that a well-encoded DD track can sound pretty much indistinguishable from the DTS track. Unfortunately, only video ever seems to take into account the difference in volume.

Indeed. For epic film watching on my own I strap on a set of Sennheiser HD595s. The headphone surround mode on Yamaha amps is pretty good.

I can't imagine my wife would enjoy the film as much if I was wearing headphones for it!

I use a THX Cinema mode at night which is cool, because you turn the volume down and it boosts the quiet stuff. works 90% of the time.
