    XRGB3 + Duo-R in RGB = Flickering image

I have the XRGB in line doubling mode and when the PC-Engine is connected via RGB Scart it just flickers on the screen why anyone know why?

    Thanks

Is the PCE colour boost modified?

when the XRGB is in Scaling mode it shows the image no problem but you cant use scanlines which negates the p;oint of it really.

It's most likely to do with the PCE being modded for RGB, resistors and such. Do you have something else you can test with?

test the PC Engine with? It works fine on a CRT TV or XRGB in B0 (Scaling mode)

No, something else to test the XRGB with.

Think that is what your problem is...

Balls, ah well - i'll try an Compos*ite cable and see how it looks if not the CRT TV lives on for PCE!

Sounds like a issue with the amped sync signal from the RGB mod. Pretty certain I've read about a fix for this...but can't for the life of me remember where I saw it.

Ah mate, if you could find that fix again for me I'd greatly appreciate it

                          well ive just found this:

it mentions something about video sync but its pretty much jibberish to me...

EDIT: I keep reading about an LM1881 Sync Separator - what is this?

LM1881 is a sync stripper, for taking the sync signal from a composite video line.
Some screens won't sync using a composite video signal, so you need to strip the sync from it using the LM1881.

I don't know if XRGBs are fussy about it though.

Also - have you got another screen you can test it on?
