Totally agree with Escape-To-88, the PC emulation is superior to the original (can never understand why nintendo removed the RBG-option from the N64, tho' using an s-video lead does give some improvement), and the X-Box.

If you want to play multiplayer at home, then the X-Box is a good option as you can use the x-box controllers which map across pretty good to the original controller, and the graphics are an improvement on the unmodded N64.

Most games run pretty well through the surreall64xxxb5.4 emulator on the x-box, although some suffer from glitchy sound at times. That version of Surreal contains Monkey's ini file that automatically selects the best emulation conditions for each rom. For the PC I'd use Project64.

Pilotwings runs okay on the Xbox, sometimes its worth trying different roms as that can make a difference.

I've still got my X-box hooked up as I find its emulation capabilities saves having 5 other consoles lying about the room (and the missus giving me ear-ache!!!).

Messiah chip certainly was for the PS2 - one sitting in mine right now, and still running well after after so many years (for Pro Evo goodness).

This is a really good link to read for the details on N64 emulation on the xbox:-

Reading and posting on that helped me to get everything running.
