Playing US games online on a PAL Xbox?

I imagine it wouldn't be possible, since you'd need to turn the chip on to play an import game on the Xbox, but is there any way of playing a US online game on a PAL machine?

I really don't want to have to pay full price for a PAL version of Sega GT Online when it's going to be less than ?19.99 in the US.

my answer is no. how can you play an NTSC game on a PAL xbox without a chip? go figure it out mate. in an ideal world, we would love to have this feature in a PAL console, then again, this website would not be formed if this is possible. this is also true to online enabled games. heck, even some US games playing on US xbox here in the UK are having troubles playing online using UK gamertags, check out US xbox PSO.... ft: ft:

No, my Xbox is chipped. It's switchable, but I'm starting to wish I got a US one now. Ah well... Guess I'll have to buy the PAL version of Sega GT.

I was online the other night, with my chip switched off but the machine set to ntsc. I was able to play all night with no problems and still havent been banned. Make of that what you will.

I got US XBOX, and I can't play Colin McRae Rally 4 either due to region coding as Codemaster confirm it contain it ft:

Only option I got is buy PAL PS2 version or wait 6 months for XBOX version ft:

i think you can set your xbox to whatever region you like with the switch on then when you turn it off it will stay on that region. I dont know how its done but i think its do-able.

Yes, you can indeed do that. I switched my machine to NTSc a week ago and went online, I still have live access and have'nt been banned.
