Good quality soldering iron and console screwdrivers?

I had a cheapy soldering iron from eBay, which I have now thrown out because the nib was FUBAR and I thought I'd buy a good quality one. Anyone able to recommend a good quality iron? I'm particularly interested if there is a better sized nib for console modification. Trying to wire up a mini-DIN with something like this was asking for trouble; has anyone found the best size for such an operation? A good quality de-solderer would be good, too.

I was also wondering if anyone knew of any full toolkits with all the console screwdrivers. I currently have the large GameBit and star-shaped screwdrivers. I know there's at least the small gamebit and a tri wing screwdriver, but perhaps there are more sorts of screw? It's annoying when you have to order a new screwdriver each time.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

I've always used a Weller soldering station. They can be expensive but often are available on ebay. - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WELLER-SOLDERI...932303ffe073d4

If you go for one let me know and I'll send you a suitable tip as I bought a job lot of about 25 in various temps and sizes.

I recently bought a screwdriver set in Maplins that had virtually everything bar gamebits.

Heh, I'm using an iron like that atm. Success comes with technique when you use ****, definitely get a needle nib if you can.

        I need to get one..

Very useful not having a cable attached. I'm crap at soldering but managed to mod a Mk1 Saturn and found it useful when I had to solder a box attached to our roof aerial.
