Windows ID/Xbox live issue

Okay I have a complex issue with xbox live so I am going to explain it in bullet points:-

• Want to change the Windows Live ID my xbox live is linked too for a new one so I can migrate my information to a new xbox.
• Do not know the password for my xbox live windows ID nor the answer to the secret question. Nor do I have access to the email my xbox live ID is linked too
• Without the old password I cannot get access to my old ID to transfer my live to the new ID
• MS look like they will not help as they cannot verifiy who I am because I do not know secret question or password and do not have access to the old ID email.

How can I link my xbox live to my new ID if I do not have the password or access to the email of the old ID?

My friend forgot his XBL password (360 died, got another, couldn't recover his account) and had no access to the email he'd used. He got there in the end by giving them a hard time on the phone.

Can't you prove you're you another way? Did you buy anything on Live with a bank card?

I have always used pre-paid cards. Although I have just purchased some points on using my credit card and hopefully that will allow them to reset my password so I can swap live IDs.

It is a real headache! On the phone they told me there was nothing they could do without my password etc. Did your friend phone america?

I doubt it. I think he just kept on at them. There's got to be some way, like you confirming your home ip to them or 360 serial number.

I have given them the home IP already.

trouble is thepassword reset people do not see the xbox, so serial number would be no good.


My pre-paid card authrisation emails get sent to my yahoo address, the yahoo address is within the new windows ID yet that still is not enough for them!

My only hope is the credit card purchase will do. Now....I wait.
