    PS3/PSP video file help

My local library has the Family Guy Season 1-8 box set, which I believe has every episode to date on it. I plan to rip the episodes so that I can have everything on my PS3 so I can watch them from the HDD.

I've never done anything like this before so I'm in need of a bit of help.

On the PlayStation site it says that the PS3 can play back any of the following files.
    • Memory Stick Video Format
    • - MPEG-4 SP (AAC LC)
    • - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile (AAC LC)
    • - MPEG-2 TS(H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, AAC LC)
    • MP4 file format
    • - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile (AAC LC)
    • MPEG-1 (MPEG Audio Layer 2)
    • MPEG-2 PS (MPEG2 Audio Layer 2, AAC LC, AC3(Dolby Digital), LPCM)
    • MPEG-2 TS(MPEG2 Audio Layer 2, AC3(Dolby Digital), AAC LC)
    • MPEG-2 TS(H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, AAC LC)
    • AVI
    • - Motion JPEG (Linear PCM)
    • - Motion JPEG (μ-Law)
    • AVCHD (.m2ts / .mts)
    • DivX
    • WMV
    • - VC-1(WMA Standard V2)
I'd like to be able to copy episodes to my PSP, which can run the following files.
    • Memory Stick™ Video Format
    • - MPEG-4 Simple Profile (AAC)
    • - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Main Profile (CABAC) (AAC) and Baseline Profile (AAC)
    • MP4
    • - MPEG-4 Simple Profile (AAC)
    • - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Main Profile (CABAC) (AAC) and Baseline Profile (AAC)
    • AVI
    • - Motion JPEG (Linear PCM)
    • - Motion JPEG (μ-Law)
So what would be the best file type for me to use? I'm guessing Motion JPEG (Linear PCM) as it's compatible with both devices.

I'd appreciate any help, providing it is even possible for me to do this.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

I think you'll probably want to create different files for each, Joe. PSP files need to be in a lower resolution so will probably look shabby on PS3.
