Hikaru is uses SH-4 processors, so it has that in common with Naomi, but the graphics hardware is all custom Sega and not PowerVR 2 like Naomi 1/2.

sorry i should have mentioned that i play these on a US machine using DC-X.
But they are the PAL versions that I use.

That definitely forces it into VGA? Interesting, I wonder if using DC-X on a PAL DC will force it into VGA too.
