It depends on the make. If it's good then I'd say 3-5m. But you can buy 10/15m RGB cables, but they can cost over ?100. They would still be brilliant quality too.

Up to 10 metres and you won't have any problems, over that and you need to make sure you are using a high quality cable and/or an RGB amp. Be careful of placement near power cables as you are introducting a larger area for interference.

How long do you need? For really long distances you can get a multiplexa (SP) that can route high quality AV signals over cat 5 cabling and this can easily go to 30 metres without any boosters, but it is expensive, natch.

I could sell you a 2 metre scat if you're interested, only downside is quality is a bit ****ty...
