you should get quite alot for a 40gig one on ebay just last week i sold a 20gig one for ?53including postage

I appreciate the offer but I think I'll pass, my current machine is too archaic to be upgraded very much, and while I could increase the power/capacity of various 'trimmings' I still wouldn't be able to do all I would like with the machine - hence I'm holding out doing anything at all to it until the inevitable upgrade in a year or so's time.

Very wise. Despite appearances its not always that worthwhile to upgrade PCs a 'bit at a time'.

If its performance your after the latest CPUs need the latest motherboards with the latest RAM etc. etc. I mean there is always a window but its surprisingly small.

Without that you just end up shifting bottlenecks round your system.

I've got about 11GB of 120GB used. Only 3 games installed but I guess the fact that I'm not a horder of MP3 files helps some.
