    Xbox 360 repair service?

    Hi all,

    My Xbox 360 has packed up with a RROD and an E74 error, which means there is a hardware failure and I need to send it back to MS for repair.

    I'm still under the 3 year warranty, but need advice on if I should call MS support up for a repair, or do it online?

    The reason I ask is that the last 3 times I've called them, they send out a pick up delivery for the console, whereas doing it online they seem to want me to drop it off at a UPS point. Which means I couldn't get down to one untill saturday, meaning more time it takes to get a new console, and less time to play games.

    Any advice or info' on if MS still send a bloke out to pick up the faulty console if you phone them up?

    When I did mine in may I printed a label and arranged a collection

      Did you arrange all that online?

      I've just decided to register it all on their MS support page, and now I'm having to wait for an e-mail with a UPS shipping label, will I be able to ring UPS up and arrange it to be collected from my house then? As that would save me a lot of trouble.

        I'm pretty sure I did mine online and they sent me label and arranged collection too if that helps. Was ages ago mind so I can't really remember if I'm honest!

          I think I arranged mine online too, there was a little confusion in doing it as I didn't have an account number

              Ups account number, it was all fine and that's how they expected you to do it

                Maybe I should sign up on the UPS website then.

                *Sigh* Why is everything so akward with MS hardware?

                  I remember the bit with the UPS account number too. Just told them it was an Xbox and they seemed to know and it wasn't a big deal!

                    UPS sent me the e-mail with the shipping label. It says I can arrange for them to pick it up I believe, so all I need now is a box!
