Import RGB Major Problem....

Here's the setup...

Right, I just got an import RGB lead. When I plug it into the argos scart splitter. It totally ****s up the screen.

Its fine when I dont press RGB, but as soon as I do, it makes these red lines appear on the screen, they move from right to left. When im on the GC input.

If I go to another input screen while the GC is turned on. The screen goes red, and ****s up completely.

If I turn RGB off, then the GC screen is fine. But no RGB output.

But if i go to another screen, i still get those red lines.

Whats going on? Is the Import Lead buggered or is something else up?

Do you know what my problem is? Or do I need to explain it more?

It turns out that when I turn my DVD player off (which was playing a CD) The red lines goes and its perfect.

So why can't I listen to a CD and play on my GC at the same time?

Sounds like your buttons arent pushed right on your scart splitter.

If you only have one, make sure the RGB button and ONLY the GC input button are down.

Anything else causes those red lines.

Phew. I'm so glad that it was the fact I was playing a CD.

But why is it causing that to happen? Is there anyway of getting around it so that I can play a CD and play on the GC?

You actually think I can stand listening to the F zero tunes any longer!

Surely because they are using the one RGB connection.

How do you expect them to share it???? And work together????

My DVD player has an optical out into my Amp. So surely it shouldn't matter that the scart splitter has a Scart lead fron the dvd player in it? As there is no image... just sound.

Stupid question but.. how is your GC hooked up to your surround sound system?

I've seen the same on my PAL GC with normal RGB lead. It went away as soon as I hit the A-B and A-C buttons next to the RGB switch correctly - you need to end up with neither of them pushed in. Blimmin' stupid buttons those.

I imagine when you play a CD your DVD displays a picture.

Your DVD player might be hooked up to your TV over RGB, and somehow the TV is getting both signals at the same time.

Seems most likely that the argos splitter is sending data from more than one scart plug to your TV. Make sure the A-B and A-C buttons are both not pressed in as suggested above, and removed the DVD player from the scart switch block or TV to double check.

There is loads of signals going the box, so best not to **** with it, huh??

It might be one of those buttons A-C is pressed in. I'll try it with it not in...
