PS2 online + mod chip. Can someone clear this up please?

    messiah 1 cant be turned off doesn't bother me as i dont play ea games, will be for you if you play fifa and that.

    why not get the chip changed i thought of it but mines a v4 so no point.

      I'm bumping this one back up to pose a related question:

      Copies/backups aside... If I play an American or Japanese online game on my chipped PAL PS2, will it connect to the servers as it should on native hardware, or will it knock me back for being in the wrong country/having a PAL machine (running at 60Hz, obviously)?
