Help me fix my pc please

Not sure what's wrong with it. It won't display anything onscreen and there is no beeps comin from the internal speaker which means it mustn't be posting.

When I hit the power button it comes on for a few seconds then turns itself off and then back on again for a few seconds. Strange thing is when it first broke the power just constantly stayed on with no activity really from the pc itself except for fans running.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Could be some failed hardware, but wouldn't know where to start without looking at it. I'd recommend unplugging/reconnecting all internal cables, RAM, add-in cards, etc.

Check all the ram and card slots to make sure they're pressed in fully. Try resetting the bios (check how to do this for your model online or in the manual).

See if there is an error light system on your motherboard (will be in the manual).

I'd guess the most likely thing is the Ram followed by the PSU.

What have you done to your PC recently? Opened it? Installed software?

Edit - a quick google points to a PSU failure.

Cheers guys. I'll try one ram stick at a time to see if that makes any difference. I haven't installed any new hardware or software recently. I've already tried disconnecting and reconnecting all the cables. Also tried a different processor so that's definitely not it. I guess if that doesn't work I'll have to go for a new PSU.

EDIT: Tried one ram stick at a time and that didn't change anything. Also tried without the sound card and had the same problem.

Is the CPU fan attached to the mobo?

Yeah a CPU with no cooling at all can cause this (had it happen when an incredibly hard to fit coolermaster fan fell off). Make sure the fan is working and the heatsink is secured.

Yea CPU heatsink/fan is connected. Now that you guys say that though before I swapped out the CPU the fan on it wouldn't spin properly. Still has the same issue now even with a different fan. Thought it might be a dodgy connection on the motherboard that connects to the power cable on the fan. Will mess about with it again and see if I can make any improvments. Thanks again guys.
