    Buffering!!!

Just streaming via youtube, and all content buffers.

It's a desktop PC, with 32-bit XP, via Homeplugs. Connection is typically over 50 Mbps.

The 3 wireless laptops in the house have no buffering at all (1 XP, 2 vista), and connection is typically way below 50 Mbps.

Have tried everything, e.g., switching off avast, windows firewall, router firewall....makes no difference

Is there anything else I can try?

    Thanks

I get slow connections some days. The answer here was lottery as to which server you get offered.

      Simple as that then?

I thought it might be....but just couldn't get my head around why a faster connection speed = poorer results?

There's probably a very logical explanation that's beyond me

Sometimes youtube gives you videos that load in seconds, othertimes you have to wait a minute or two for enough to load to view (then sometimes you get allocated servers where every video has an unspecified fault) . It's a lottery.

Guessing rubbish load balancing or overcrowding is to blame.

try uninstalling flash and reinstalling it

My girlfriends PC was doing exactly what you described, but it turned out the flash plugin was borked
