Mac formatted iPod Classic - how can I format it to work on a PC?

Hi,

I have an iPod Classic - last year's model - which is formatted to work on my iMac. My OH is buying it off me, to help fund the new iPod Touch purchase, but will be using it on a PC. At the moment, Windows doesn't recognise it al all - is there a way in which I can make it do so?

Put iTunes on the PC, plug the iPod in, go to iTunes and you should have an option to format it for PC. It's been a while so apologies for vagueness.

Doesn't work - PC doesn't recognise the iPod at all....

Ok, go to apple.com and find the troubleshooting ipod section. Oddly enough the in formation in there does actually seem to help people out (very odd in this day and age!). I fixed my daughter's iPod shuffle this way even when it appeared to be totally dead.
