    Any value in VHS videos?

I'm asking as a I have a ridiculous amount of these sitting boxed in a cupboard upstairs, and I'm basically losing the cupboard to them. I have no sentimental attachment to them whatsoever, so I was looking at just taking them all down the dump.

Before I do that though, is there a market for them? Any resource anyone knows of where I might be able to identify the more valuable in the collection? I could also just sell them on I guess as a massive bundle, if that's feasible.

Just thought I'd check before I make a silly mistake.

I'm guessing the only one's of particluar worth are those from the Video Nasty era.

A lot of movie collectors go ga-ga for the original releases before they clamped down on them.

Other than that unless they were limited boxsets I'd say they are pretty worthless these days.

Only one's I've kept are my Manga/Anime releases & any Mountain Bike videos I had back in the day.

Thanks all, figured as much. I don't think I have anything of great value. Half tempted to take some pictures, but I'm not sure it'll do me any favours in the credibility department.

I have no idea what that is, so I'm going to say no.

Don't suppose you a copy of Black Arrow in there? It never made it to DVD but was a quality Oliver Stone flick.

What about children's videos? Lots of old stuff obviously never made it to DVD. I'm after a tape of Rub a Dub Dub! If we don't save the old shows, our kids are gonna be left with.... well to be honest I don't watch TV, so I have no idea what they have nowadays, but it can't possibly be as good as The Riddlers, Ghosts of Bottle Bay, Mike and Angelo, Aquila, and all that crap! The BBC certainly can't be trusted to archive and keep any of this stuff, and ITV don't even have a children's slot anymore (as far as I'm aware).

I might see if I can get photos of everything, we'll see! I'm not sure how many I have up there - not a hideous amount, a few hundred I think.

I can't find any reference to that film on his IMDB page.

I cannot even sell my Laserdiscs let alone VHS tapes. Car boot sales might be a good way to shift some tapes but expect to get pennies per sale.

I ditched all my VHS about 5/6 years ago. I thought I was hard done by then only getting a couple of quid back on each one. Now however.......

If I can be arsed I'll try and get photos up, then I'm more than happy to send some out of people want them and cover postage. Then I think I'll just dump the rest. Cheers folks, I figured this would be the case - people like to collect all sorts of useless tat though so I thought it best to check.
