    deleting a corrupted folder?

After my pc rebooted for no reason, like it usually does (something to do with a serial cable not connected according to the boot up screen that follows) i now have a corrupt folder littering my desktop. Anyway I can delete this?
    Cheers

      Ahem, yeah!

It's probably not a corrupt folder though - Windows (ME/2000?) used to default the temp directory to your desktop so it is probably just some install folders or something. You should just be able to blow 'em away, move 'em to the recycle bin or whatever.

If not, like Windows says a program is using it or something, then shut all your stuff down, run scandisk (*shrug* it might help) and try and delete them. If not, then something IS using them, in which case, I'll post later if it is still a problem...

Try booting into safe mode to remove it, or run a delete command in DOS to get rid of the offending folder.

also, moving this to the PC Advice folder

          You could try running chkdsk
