How do I connect my Dell Vostro 1720 to my TV??

Clueless on this sort of thing - not sure what the ports are on my Dell by looking at them but it's a year old Vostro 1720. TV is a year old Samsung full HD with HDMI ports, PC port and Scarts etc but no s-video that I can see...

Provided your TV has a VGA port, just use a long enough VGA cable. If you want audio to be fed to the TV as well, you can either use a 3.5mm to phono or 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable (depending on what your TV supports).
Simply plug this in the headphone socket and set the volume on the laptop roughly above the half way mark.

Remember to match the PC's desktop resolution to the maximum PC resolution that the TV will allow on its VGA input (check manual for list). For example I had a samsung thats maximum resolution on VGA was 1366X768, any other desktop res looked blurry but match it 1:1 & it was as sharp as a pin!
