LG LCD TV had dead pixels from day 1. Now 11 months old. Still under warranty?

Bought it end of Dec 09. Had dead pixel about 10cm from top & 20cm from left edge of top leftcorner, so its near the action on screen. Only visible when watching dark areas in films/games & appears as a clearly noticable red colour about just under 1mm in size up close but looks a lot bigger as it glows from further away.
I've tried rubbing it, but got nowt, so do you think its a bit cheeky to send it back to Currys for an exchange considering that the 1 yr warranty is almost up??

That's the whole point of the warranty! I had one pixel die on my 60" plasma, phoned LG up direct, they sent a guy out to have a look, and the whole panel was replaced a week later. Excellent service.

Why have you waited this long anyway?
      Kept you waiting, huh?

If anyone does cover you for those two dead pixels (which they'll deem "acceptable"), it'll be a gesture of goodwill. 11 months is a bit late though.

Sorry to hijack - I am having this exact problem now.

Image or sound cutting out over HDMI for 1-2 seconds. Happening daily.

Should I call in my 1 year warranty? TV is about 5 months old.

I think it might be the ports. Happens on Blu Ray, PS3 and 360.

Got to get a new unit I assume?

There is no zero tolerance policy for dead pixels on a TV, so if anybody manages to get a panel replaced with just a few they're lucky, because the manufacturer is not obliged to do so.
