    EMS shipping & lithium batteries

Right, whether it's a case of the ebay seller trying a fast one or something.
But the seller has tried to send me a PSP (from Japan) and he's saying that the post office won't accept lithium batteries (even if he tries to conceal it) as it'll be scanned, and more than likely it will be returned or binned.

    Is this true?

So he's going to try and see if FedEx/ UPS will do, and it might require more shipping costs, hmm...

    EMS prohibited items list
Lithium batteries aren't directly listed but hazardous materials are. IIRC you can bring batteries with less than 8gr of Lithium on passenger flights and I don't recall any consumer electronic device packing more than said quantity.
However a quick search with Google resulted in a ban on air shipping of lithium batteries by Hong Kong; not sure if this affects EMS or other Asian countries though.

The Japanese post office are being right twats these days. They wouldn't allow me to send a Super Famicom Cartridge to Germany until I argued with them that there was no battery in it. I just say I'm posting a CD these days yet the idiots still ask if there's a battery in it!?! I normally answer "No, there's no battery in the parcel" before they even finish their sentence.

Never knew lithium batteries were banned as such :/
That particular ebay seller has refunded me anyways.
