New 40" TV that doesn't have terrible input lag for gaming?

I've brought this subject up previously but didn't really pursue it at the time. Hoping someone can help.

It seems all new TVs have terrible input lag for gaming. I need a new larger TV, 40" will just fit perfectly in my new unit but any one I have looked into getting has apparently terrible input lag which makes fast games unplayable, especially online.

I have a Sony KDL 32V4000 right now and it's perfect so obviously don't want anything worse. I just want a TV that is as good as the one I have but 40". I wouldn't mind 1080p if possible. All this for around the £400 mark. Is this possible? Can anyone give me ideas as I was fine with this until all the input lag malarky came about and ****ed up everything.

Seems really good for the price and apparently has decent lag.

I too would like to know what is available in the UK. Shoryuken and bemanistyle tests aren't really valid over here as I can't purchase the models they have.

      Panasonic TX-P42S20 (16ms) and P42G20 (18ms or so).

The 32" Samsung LE32C530 (16ms) is also very fast, and I hope that the 40" version is the same.

You will probably end up getting something better than your Sony V4000 - I seem to remember those had some lag.

I think you mentioned them previously to me but they are too big for my unit unfortunately! I've had a good read about and the LE40C580 does seem brilliant so reckon I'll go for it. Won't be for a few weeks, will the prices maybe come down after xmas on TVs? Whats the general scoop with these type of things at this time of year?

Oh yah so it is. Maybe I'll grab it sooner rather than later then! Quite looking forward to getting the old 1080p on the go now. Is the Xbox 360 capable of 1080p only by using HDMI on the newer models?

Need to check if this TV has PiP as my Sony doesn't for some reason and I would like it back since I don't run a dual screen setup anymore.
