Picked up a laptop for my daughter and have put a password in. I can't remember what it is though and we've not registered it as we didn't want her to know about it. When I try to reset it says I need removable media. Help!

First thing do you have any other accounts on the machine and do they have admin rights? I think there other ways if that is not the case but you can easily login as another admin and change a password. -
You can login as admin and change the password (you lose any encrpyted stuff in that account)
If you set the password as an admin you're screwed.Comment
