    Sale Bargains Telly Suggestions

    Hi!

I need to buy a new telly as the one in my games room is moving to the bedroom.

I'll probably wait until the sales, but I'm sure I'll pick up a TV for a decent price whilst they're trying to clear out ready for the new ones.

I'm looking at about 32", mainly for gaming, doesn't need to be all-singing because I'm trying to bag a bargain, plasma/LED/LCD is fine and I'm a big fan of Panasonic and Samsung TVs.

Does anybody have any good suggestions that fit this criteria?

    Cheers team!

      Thanks EB!

Just popped onto the Richer Sounds site and had a mooch.

      Are LG tellies any good?

What would you prefer, Street Turk - White or Brushed Chrome?

Samsung seem to have both options covered.

I couldn't tell you if they're any good though!
I'm totally out of the loop with tellies these days.
It used to be Plasma was better and cheaper for big screens, LCD was cheaper and better for smaller screens.

These days you can have LCD, LED and Plasma at any size! So which one's best? There's only one way to find out...

          buy "Which TV" or summat

              32", bargain, and excellent gaming:

Thanks for all your help, guys.

I've not been able to find a better telly for the money than the one Lyris suggested.

Richer sounds were out of stock, so went to PC World. They wouldn't price-match RS, so I Googled the telly on my phone.

Found it in stock in Comet for £30 cheaper so the chump dropped his price.

                Result!

                    mobile.comet.co.uk/p/LCD-TVs/buy-SAMSUNG-LE32C530-LCD-TV/625558?cm_mmc=Google+Shopping-_-Feed-_-_LCD_TVs-_-625558_SAMSUNG_LE32C530&_$ja=tsid:8360%7Ccc:%7 Cprd:LE32C530%7Ccat:_LCD_TVs

That's the link I used when in PC World to check Comet's price, stock level and reserve one if PC World wouldn't price match.

Richer Sounds don't use UK stock, according to PC World, so won't match them, but Comet, Richer Sounds and eventually PC World all do that tv for £299.99.

There are bigger tellies, ones more features and 3D ones, but the prices start sky-rocketing.

Thanks again, Lyris (and Boris!) for your help.

Seems like the popular choice atm. Hopefully I can get the VAT off with my order.

Hmmm, I think that may be a giant porky they told you!
Nice excuse for not price matching though!

                          Yeah, I guessed that.

I would've preferred to have bought off Richer Sounds, but the apathetic salesman and lack of stock meant I had to go elsewhere.

Was pleased to wipe the smug smile off the salesman that refused to price-match.

                          Any good warranty places?

I think they're getting confused with Pixmania, who blatantly sell grey imports.

Most of the models are Europe-wide anyway, as are the warranties, and most people selling Continental European product to the UK will supply you with the plug adapter anyway.

The exceptions being the Freesat-enabled TVs, and strangely, the Panasonic S20 Plasmas where the UK versions are (apparently) considerably better than what's sold on the continent.
