    Wii - flickering black pixels

Right just received an original White wii I bought from Kurosaki7. I've set it all ip to play and I'm seeing these flickering black pixels appearing in various spots. It looks like something caused by overheating but it's in a well ventilated area and it's on firmware 4.3E. Any help fellas?

Flickering black pixels would most likely be artifacts, indeed caused by overheating. I believe this is common amongst early Wii consoles.

Is there anyway to get around it then?

Sending it back to Nintendo.. Best solution I know.

On a PC you'd clock down the GPU perhaps but obviously you can't do that on a Wii.

Oh ffs. It's well out Of its warranty. I'm probably better off sending it back to kurosaki and getting a refund. I'm not happy at all right now.

Just spoken to Nintendo. They told me they think is what we have already said. It will cost £28 to repair. I think kurosaki should refund me the difference to pay for this. What do you think? I paid £95inc postage for it and I didn't even mind it was missing the controller flap.

              That seems reasonable to me.

I think you should discuss it with him via PM maybe?

Already sent him a pm mate. Just waiting for a reply. I'm not angry or anything kurosaki has been a nice chap during this transaction. Just hoping there was an easier way to do this other than send it off to nintendo.

Just done some research into this myself now, thought it might be good to post on here if anyone else does get the issue. Apparently it is a GPU issue, quite typical it happens when I sell it and it was working fine a matter of days ago.

Anyhooo it was a manufacturing fault similar to the RROD so a bit of persuasion on the phone should make them repair it for free. I will take this back to PM after but if you give me the serial number I will call Nintendo tomorrow and enquire for you if you want. (about getting a free repair)

                        I wish I just saw this beforehand : (

Dont worry about it mate. It is just one of those things you can't have foreseen. The cooler or something might have already be on it's way and during delivery it could have been shook a bit. Nothing you could have done to prevent it.
