Will Wii operate without sensor bar?

Just a quick unusual Wii question: Will I be able to play games like Super Mario All Stars, and other none sensor bar controlled games without the sensor bar attached?

Yes but you'll either need to use a classic controller to navigate the wii menu or install some homebrew that will boot directly into another menu system that will let you control via a GC pad/other.

There are third party wireless sensor bars available if it's not just a visible irk.

It's just because I want to bring my Wii into the bedroom where we are keeping our new born and I want to keep the wires to a minimum, keeping the missus happy. I can play SMA and MH3.

You could buy a wireless sensor bar. Be sure to check how many batteries it needs though, since some require more than others.

EDIT - Ah, that's already been mentioned.
