Memory Stick Pro HG-Duo with PSP

I'm looking to buy a new memory stick for the PSP, and it looks like things have gotten a little more complicated over the years. Amazon.jp sell 8GB Memory Stick Pro HG-Dup 30MB/s sticks, are these compatible with the PSP?

I can confirm that they do work, I have a 32GB one in mine.

They work but not all older games recognise the newer high cap ms, Outrun2006 being one of them

Thanks, I've ordered an 8GB version since it's only ~£18. All these Pro Duo HX HX SGDGFDGFD suffixes get so confusing.

You only need a Mark 2 with a PSP. A HG is overkill IMO. 32GB Mark 2 only has problems with SF Zero 3, which is easily fixed by using any other memory card and then copying the file over to the 32GB.
          Kept you waiting, huh?

There's basically no price difference between the Mark 2 and HG-Duo HX in Japan, so I just went with that. I'm sure the PSP itself will be a bottleneck with regards to speed though.

Bit late now but I'd have bought an M2 and an adapter. I'm guessing the next PSP will want M2 rather than Pro Duo cards (it's Sony though so who knows?). I do the same when buying SD cards i.e. get Micro SD + adapter.
