    External Hard Drives

My stupid Seagate 1.5tb external HD is doing a stupid clicking noise, which I think means it is about to konk out, so im on the look out for a new external HD, prefferably not Seagate now.

Does anyone know where online is a reputable place to get a decent 2TB External HD drive that is reliable and affordable, not lookin to spend more than a ton (thats 100 sheets or ?100).

Was thinking Amazon, but would like to see alternatives really.

    Much appreciated!

The clicking noise could be the head returning to its stand-by/rest position, it was fairly common in my (relatively) old Velociraptor and I hadn't a problem with it. Of course, if clicks happen frequently the HDD may be defective, before buying an other it might be worth checking what the SMART values are, sometimes a low-level format or a "hard reset" through the manufacturer's own tools might solve some problems.
