    Win 7 SP1

MS release Service pack 1 last night.

Mostly bug fixes and some virtualization shizzle.

I've just had a peak to see if there were any early issues and the only thing that popped up was that it changed the mail client default back to Outlook.

Ta for the heads up, I shall try this later.

This is also available over Windows Update.

Microsoft have made an effort to keep service packs relatively low-key in the future to discourage businesses from avoiding updating until the first service pack is released. This is pretty much just all of the bug-fix updates until now, it's not even being pushed as a mandatory update.

My ram usage with no apps running has shot up to 90% after installing SP1, should I uninstall it till I buy more ram?

Can't believe this, I had all updates prior to this too.

edit-after about an hour ram usage dropped to just a bit above normal, very weird.

              Probably just re-indexing everything.

I found the links disabled again in Messenger 2009 after installing SP1, but running it in XP compatibility mode seems to have solved that stupid change.

I'm on Pigdin. Seems very low profile.

Read this title as a competition, and though "OOoh, a '7 SP1,' I want to win one of those!"

Will ignore if it's going to mess up my Messenger. Have they sorted out that real name **** yet?

No. That and other things is why a bunch of people I know and myself are sticking to 2009 for now.

can't you just change your real name in your profile?

It shows all your contacts as their real names instead of their handles in 2011 apparently... depending on how much you've got filled out per entry.

You can, but you have to fill out a surname. I just want to be "mAtt," not "mAtt SOMERANDOMTHING."

I honestly have no idea what benefit there's meant to be.
