    Counter-Strike:Condition Zero Anticipation Thread.

I thought I'd start this as I heard the game has gone Gold recently, or something to that effect, and will be released soon.

I've had my pre-order for a while with gameplay.co.uk - see HL2 thread - and am getting excited.

I know that the best part of the game - CS 1.6 - is free to download, but not having BB, I'm excited about the off line aspect too... I hope that the Bots are as good as they say they will be... I've wasted many an hour with bots like PodBot...

    So, what about you peeps...

I'm excited, but only because it looks like the only way to play CS 1.6 over a LAN is with Condition Zero. Ruddy Steam...

And I want Jeepathon back. Bugged yes, but when we realised you could drive to the bomb point, plant it, and then drive away with the bomb in the jeep

And I've managed to kill after running yards with a knife. When they had an Artic Warfare. Damn idiot ginger people...

Its going to be ****ing awful, the original team were transfered to other projects some months ago i.e CS2 or similar. The action is all scripted, the graphics are pretty dated by todays standards. Dont get your hopes up. Having played CS since the early beta's it was originally pretty exciting, and a year ago it might have been half decent. Sorry

It's been changed again mate, all those scripted missions are still there in the game though in a 'deleted scenes' section of the game, the main game looks as if it takes part on updated current maps like dust for example, using bots.

Here's a quote from the preview I was talking about:

"Gabe Newell (on ShackNews) gave an example of a standard challenge:

? in easy mode, you have to get one kill with a pistol

? in normal mode, you have to get one kill with a five seven

? in hard mode, you have to get three kills with a five seven without dying which may take multiple rounds

? in expert mode, you have to get three head shots with a deagle without dying"

Well, the early reviews from a few months back now were anything but positive. They weren't abysmal, but they weren't particularly enthusiastic. Whether or not the two are related I don't know, but CZ was subsequently delayed again. Fingers crossed the final product will be a bit better for it.

I too read a few reviews in PC mags, which were really quite negative...

I think I'm going to reserve judgement until the game is released either way though!

              Currently I'm thinking:

              Good bots = Good game!

WTF is going on. Click my link at the top of the thread, and it looks like the game has been delayed until April. ****ING APRIL.

How can it be delayed until April? The game is old. It shouldn't take this long... I'm annoyed. Very annoyed.

Maybe, after the mediocre reviews that some PC mags gave it they have gone back to the drawing board to make a better game.

Double edged sword: Better game = Longer wait.

Not exactly hard then? 3 deagle headshots? wow thats longetivity.
why not make it - expert mode: get 10 headshots with Mac10 or M3 pump action.
