Sony PlayStation Scart cables compatible across all PlayStations?

I brought a Scart cable for a PlayStation 1 on eBay and I might be experiencing some issues with it.

During loading, the picture sometimes jumps and flickers before returning to normal. After I pushed the cable harder into my HDTV, the picture turned purple, returning to normal after I pulled it out slightly.

I?m guessing it?s the ?3 cable that?s causing this issue and wanted to buy an official one. Are official Sony Scart cables designed for use across PS1, PS2 & PS3 and can anyone recommend a good one for PS1?

Playstation Scart cables are the same across all 3 formats, so it doesn't matter which one you buy. The official Sony cable is one of the highest quality console video cables I've seen outside of the insane AV enthusiast stuff, but they are expensive.

Thanks for confirming, is it worth buying a brand new Sony PS3 Scart Cable (If such a thing exists) or just hunt for a PS2 / PS1 version on eBay?

Sony don't make an official SCART for PS3 I believe.. Official cables can be expensive and hard to find, good luck! I swear by my PS2 one, amazing colour and a super sharp picture. Here's a pic on my 26" Trinitron:

Very nice, I had a Blaze RGB Scart cable for my PS2 and it looked the business.

My current Chinese PS1 Scart cable is really good but the build quality is rubbish. I’ll take a look and hopefully someone will have an official PS2 cable knocking about.

If not, then that Blaze cable is recommended by most people around here. Will work fine on PS1 also.

I could never tell the difference between the Blaze one and an official PS1 one. Although, the OCD in me wishes I'd hung onto the official one!
