Hooking up multiple Xboxes with a router?

I am planning a games night next friday, and we are hopefully getting 3 xboxes together for some multiplayer Halo.

Thing is I was hpoing to use my 4 port ethernet router (normally used to connect my PCs to my ADSL modem and to each other) and standard CAT5 cables to link them. Will this work, or do I need to buy a seperate hub or switch or something?

Also, are there any other linkup games on Xbox that are worth trying?

    (thinking Burnout2 maybe)

I think with a router you'll be fine, not sure of the cables though.

Halo has got to be played link up.

It'll work fine matey, no need to worry. A router is just kind of like a hub, only smarter

Other link up games? Moto GP is worth a pop, to overcome the dreadful split screen mode. Ghost Recon:IT has link up but I've yet to try that one and Wolfenstein has system link too, Timesplitters 2 also.

You need a lot of players to make Wolfenstein interesting in system link mode... at least 2 teams of 3 and preferably 2 teams of 2. It's great though!

Timesplitters 2 is my favourite link up game... the multiplayer mode's so fast and a lot of fun plus even with 2 or 3 machine's and some of the smaller maps it's a decent challenge if your team mates are up to it.

Ooh, Brute Force is pretty decent over system link in an arcadey Ghost Recon kind of way...

            Excellent

So nobody's recommending Burnout2 then? I thought that would be excellent with linkup... any other racers work with system link?

I didn't think Burnout 2 did system link.

This is a list of games that can be run using XBConnect, so I assume these are the only system link games.

              Brute Force
              Clone Wars
              Deathrow
              Halo
              Ghost Recon
              GR Thunder Island
              Inside Pitch
              Mech Assault
              Midnight Club2
              Midtown Maddness 3
              MotoGP
              MotoGP 2
              Nascar Heat
              NFL Fever
              NFL Fever 2004
              Serious Sam
              Soldier of Fortune 2
              Time Splitters 2
              Tony Hawk 2x
              Tony Hawk 3
              Tony Hawk 4
              Unreal Championship
              Whacked
              Wolfenstein

Tried that one with XBConnect and got a bit of a laugh out of it. I can only assume it would be good fun if the other players were in the same room.

All of my mates think it's **** so they won't try it. I'm getting sick of hearing them say "Put on MotoGP2"
