Firefox 4 help needed

So, I finally updated and was pleased all my plugins were supported, but...

When running other apps such as winamp, or anything else plus a few tabs open in FF, my PC is visibly slowing down and for the first time ever it actually froze on me a couple of times yesterday.

I never had this problem with Firefox 3, and I also thought that they had improved resource usage and stability for 4?

Is there anyway I can make it less system intensive?

BTW-I really do need some more ram (only 2gig) but I never really needed to until now.

I'm getting problems with it myself. Everytime i log in on the main forum page it never remembers. Going to try something else. Never came to liking this version of FF.

Fixed it, i just had to change the Forum skin in General Settings. Anyone know if there is a setting to adjust the width a bit, its mainly sitting in the centre at the moment.

We are working on the general look at the moment. After that, it'll be easy to make a slightly altered version that is fluid with the browser window.

Not sure whether this will work with your specific query, but you could try this:

options > options > general (tab) > uncheck the 'use hardware acceleration where available'

As I've heard this slows it down a bit.

jimtendo, thanks for the tip, it's actually been a lot better recently (?) but I'm going to try any tips to speed it up till I buy more ram.
