Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire?

I've never played a Pokemon game before, but I really want to try one of the new ones, but I'm not sure which one to get. Which one did you go for and why? Is one better than the other?

Get the one that your friends don't have, or get the one with the lowest sales... then you'll have more chance of meeting someone with the opposite colour.

They are essentially the same game, but a slightly different story and different pokemon.

I also prefer Kyogre to Groudon, so I went Sapphire (with Kyogre in it).

But, which ever one you get you'll not be dissatisfied...
