SCART -> Component Convertors

Anyone have any experience dealing with these convertors such as this one: http://www.scancom.ltd.uk/products/cypress/csy-2100.htm


I'm wondering if any upscan conversion is involved in the process and what the resulting picture looks like. Any constructive replies are appreciated.

No upscan is performed on this. If it works well it will probably show a picture that is identical to the SCART picture.

The picture quality should be reasonably good, it depends on how good the RGB encoding on the Console / DVD player you are going to use.

It's likely that it's only going to give you interlaced component video (480i) anyway. Still if you only have YUV inputs then its a nice way to play RGB consoles.

I'm thinking that it would be a good replacement for the XRGB-2 if there is no upscanning involved. As many of you know, US TVs do not have SCART inputs but my HDTV has 2 VGA inputs so I've been using the XRGB-2 plus.
