anti virus prgrams

my norton anti virus update subscription has nearly run out and is there any good ones that i can get off the net ? i dont want to have to reinstall norton or anything to get it back on.

I`ve used avg for a while now and has been fine. The software is constantly updated so you won`t have any worries about new viruses. Easily as good as the ones you pay for.

From what I have experienced I wouldn't go for norton. I had it installed kept it up to date but still got a virus and now Norton will not reinstall. Now I know this is perfectly posible with any virus scanner but its the only one that its happened to me. Parents are running AVG on there computer and I have never heared them complain.

Kaspersky is apartently very good for catching viruses that it has not even been updated on.

Thanks for bringing AVG to my attention. I just installed it as a free replacement for my extremely old Mcafee-build (haven't updated for years, after the eligible-for-update option vanished). Am using ZoneAlarm, will see how AVG will work out.
