    NTSC PS2 or chipped PAL PS2?

    I'm a SRPG ho & I just bought Disgaea during a trip to the US. Thing is, I don't have a PS2. Given that Disgaea is the sole reason I want to buy a PS2, which is the cheaper & better option?

    * Getting a pre-chipped UK PS2
    * Getting a US PS2 with step-down, etc.
    (I'm assuming there are importers who sell US PS2s in the UK, or US websites that will ship one to the UK?)

    Cheers,

    Unless you want to play japanese bemani games, there's no reason not to get a chipped PAL PS2. That'll give you a totally region free PS2 (enabling you to play the bargain bin PAL games, and the odd JAP game), while you'd be restricted to US games only with a US PS2, obviously.

      If you import one you will have to pay for expensive postage and duty and buy a stepdown transformer, just go for a chipped PS2.

      Will at London Consoles sell a nice Silver PS2 chipped for 205 pounds. You might want one of those new PS2
