KOTOR - does it really damage your Xbox?

As I am just about to finish Zelda (finally ) I need another game to play so I'm thinking of getting KOTOR, but I remember a thread about it damaging the Xbox.

    (Quick search...) Here: http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/viewtopic....er=asc&start=0

I've got a modded Xbox, but a fairly small HDD so probably not enough space to copy it over.

Is it best to get the PAL or US version? Did anybody actually have any experience with it mucking up their 'box?

    Thanks,
    Sam

I've got the American version copied to my HDD (around 4-5G appx).

I think the whole damaging XBox thing is a myth... it's apparently a little unstable on first gen XBoxes but nothing that could damage the console.

I've played 30 hours on my copy with no problems though... The only niggle I've got is that It takes about twice as long to load the Ebon Hawk, than every other area, which I think may be as a result of reading from the HDD... but I could be wrong, and it could be a universal issue...

But, I'd suggest you get the game. I love it, although I'm far from completing it (Which is a very good thing), I've only got good things to say about the American version atleast!

Perhaps you should check out the official thread for a little more information (but, take note, that place is a spoiler minefield).

      OK cheers Nips.

I couldn't remember anyone actually saying that they had firsthand experience of it breaking their box, so hoped it was all just an overreaction.

Anyone know of any difference between US and PAL versions?

I played through the whole game from the disc on my PAL box with no problems whatsoever.

          AFAIK they're exactly the same...

OK, I'll just look out for the cheapest option then. Thanks.

I've got a pal 1.1 and it was causing the read head to move about a disturbing amount.
