Replacing volume and power slide covers on DS Lite

My GF's DS lite has taken a battering in her handbag and now both the volume and power sliders are cracked and keep sticking.

I've sourced replacements but I'm wondering if they are easy to replace, assuming the actual switches are fine underneath. Is it just a matter of opening the case removing the broken sliders and fitting the new ones in?

Has anyone done this before?

Very easy. I've done a bunch of DS Lites way back when. As long as you have the tri-bit thingy you'll be fine.

You just remove the screws for the bottom case(I think there's one under the battery, too) and slide it out carefully. The things to be careful with are the triggers because they have springs that like to fly across the room. If the sliders are sticking then I imagine the switches underneath will be fine, but you won't know until you open it.
