Dreamcast VGA box problem

My Dreamcast VGA box has stopped working .

When I switch the DC on the VGA box light comes on and all I get is a black screen that comes and goes. This isn't the first time this has happened, my first VGA box did a similar thing after about a year. I've had this one about 18 months and I don't want to buy another one. I've tried my RGB scart cable and everything works ok, so my guess is that there might be a loose connection somewhere in the VGA box or more likely the cable from the DC to VGA box.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is it one thats got composite and svhs sockets on also? Like this one..



If so, are these working on it?

It could be a problem with the cable, the poor quality soldering that some of these boxes have, or the switch that enables VGA mode. If you're not in a rush, I'd have a look at it as I like tinkering around inside of things.

Yeah, that's the one. I haven't tried the other outputs on the box so will give that a go, thanks.

I have two VGA boxes so I may be able to send you one to have a look at if you want.
