Cheap speakers, recommend-me-do

I want some speakers that are cheap and that plug into the proper sound port on my PC rather than USB. They don't have to be good, just not totally rubbish.

Do such things exist?

How cheap? I use these with my laptop when away at university, they're mighty powerful given their price and size.
