I wouldn't touch a DC disc unless it's already unreadable. Something about the GD Roms makes them unsuitable for resurfacing and they can be rendered completely broken by buffing. Saturn discs have a different problem in that the label side art is easily worn off which destroys the data layer completely. I bought a Saturn game once that had a bit of celloptape holding it inside the case. When I peeled off the tape it took a strip of the data layer away with it and left clear window right through the disc. Straight into the bin with it. WTF...
