Ok, so I'm pretty sure after reading up on this that I really fancy the idea of a hori stick. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the stick above seems pretty decent exept for the fact that the buttons are hori buttons and hori buttons are a load of old **** right? So what I need is a hori stick but with sanwa buttons... I think I read that there is a hrap se or something that comes with sanwas. This is pretty confusing but i think I'll get there. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good arcade stick stockist in the uk? Cheers!

If you can find it cheaper elsewhere (or even if you cannot) then I very highly recommend this, which you might be talking about. The HRAP V3 SA. Full sanwa and IMO nicer to use than a TE.

I would say that, unless you buy used, that's the best value stick available currently for PS3.

The Hori Fighting Stick V3 is pretty decent as a base. It's pretty similar to a VSHG in terms of layout, and under ?40. A good choice if you're on a budget. Looks to be easily modded too. Nothing comes close to a VSHG imo, but prices are somewhat prohibitive nowadays. *hugs x4 VSHG*

Unless you are a hardcore player, or are a regular arcade player you'll be fine with a stock Hori. I feel it's a myth that sticks must be Sanwa Denshi to be considered any good.
          Kept you waiting, huh?

The massive downside for me is that the VSHG has a stupid layout. I fixed mine to the standard layout that makes sense, but it confused people when they hit X and it confirmed a O.

Speedlolita, is this the same stick but in a different colour or is it completely different?

That is the Xbox 360 one, but other than colour is the same. Won't work on PS3.

yeah sure. Its just curious that its ?30 less. On the amazon reviews people have been complaining about the build quality of the xbox version saying that the A button doesnt work and it breaks easily etc.

                  with this one:

how hard would it be to replace the buttons with seimatsu/sanwa buttons or whatever? is it a really tough job?

this stick seems quite a good deal at the price. I also read some stuff about the stick you posted saying that the shape wasn't great and your hands slip off when playing?

I don't believe I've ever sad that personally. That Hori stick isn't a bad price at all. Replacing buttons is as easy as removing the control panel and swapping the quick disconnects from the Hori buttons to your new buttons. Easy as pie.

My personal stick is an HRAP2 - recommend it!

I would recommend 30mm OBSN in the colour of your choice.

Personally I'd also get two button plugs to plug the last holes, but that's just because I'm fussy.

The Sanwa OBSN-30 is a 30mm screw-in style arcade button and features a built in microswitch with 2.8mm terminals.

well I ordered that stick and when I ordered it, it changed from in stock to out of stock and now 3 days later, still no notice of dispatch and its listed as out of stock. they've taken the money but no sign of any kind of dispatch or anything... I'm not sure of this site. seems kind of crummy. there's no cancellation option on the site...

                          anyone used gamesbasement before?

well, seems some research has pretty much shown that gamesbasement.co.uk are dodgy as **** and have ripped off loads of people. good stuff. I used my debit card to pay so thats ?75 down the ****ter. Fabulous stuff.

Can your bank do anything about it?

I phoned them but I reckon not. Seems pretty crazy that a website can sit around for a year stealing everyones money without any repercussions at all. I guess that's the end of my little arcade stick adventure for the time being. Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm sure it'll come in handy eventually!
